Re: Reposting Existing COPA line items with new Profit center

Hello Venkatesh,

bhaskar is right. The correction works best with a correction posting through KE21N.

I have actually created a query to download the the contents in Excel (can also be done via KE24), then I change the contents in Excel and use LSMW with a KE21N recording to do the correction posting.

To do it the "FI-way" you can also reverse by either posting the docs with LSMW putting all values on "-" and reposting them with the "+"-values and correct profit-center.

There is also a report for mass reversal of CO-PA documents, I just can't find it right now.

Since we have this every once in a while I now have a program which also populates fields like the the reference documents. This will make the CO-PA document look like an original document out of SD/MM/...

Best Regards,
Christian

Re: SAP Cost group upload using excel sheet

Hi Cecile,

Maintaining these changes in Excel is not easier than maintaining same changes directly in the system.  It is rather something cultural.  If you try to put a business case on such change your ROI will be maybe 20 years from now (if at all).

I can drag and drop same Cost Center between two groups in the same hierarchy in one action in SAP.  In Excel you will cut a line from one place, add line in another place, paste value, save file, next go for upload Z transaction. Not mentioning typos, files not being saved, wrong files uploaded, etc.  It is something quite over engineered.  Moreover, it is simply dangerous!  Think about some wrong file being uploaded, you can corrupt all your master data without a chance to roll back.

Anyway, good luck!

Hi Ajay,

Thanks a lot. I had a similar gut feeling about this and you confirmed it.

I will have to either switch off the user exit or live with the remaining variances.

Result Analysis on Project-Cost based POC- PS&FICO

$

Dear SAP Guru's

Assumption:

RA is done at end of a period and both PLAN & ACTUAL data upto RA Period are considered not just for the Period RA is being executed.

Method used : Cost Based POC -03, Expert mode config.

For the first period -I

All the values are coming correct in RA and subsequently i did the settlement.

RA Calculation:

Planned Revenue:  100000 AED

Planned Cost          80000 AED

Actual revenue        0 AED

Actual Cost            20000 AED

Percentage of Completion = Actual Cost/Planned Cost*100

        = (20000/80000)*100= 25%.

Calculated Revenue  = POC*Planned Rev.  = 25%*100000 = 25000 AED

Revenue in Excess Billing =  Calculated revenue- Actual revenue =  25000-0= 25000 AED.

Profit = Calculated Revenue – Actual Cost= 25000-20000 = 5000.

all fine for first period.

For the second Period:-II

In 2nd period, we raise an invoice of 40000 AED to our customer and also our actual costs in the project increased to 40000.

Expected calculation are

RA Calculation:

Total Planned Revenue:  100000 AED

Total Planned Cost          80000 AED

Actual Revenue             40000 AED

Actual Cost                   40000 AED

Percentage of Completion = Actual Cost/Planned Cost*100

        = (40000/80000)*100= 50%.

Calculated Revenue  = POC*Planned Rev.  = 50%*100000 = 50000 AED

Revenue in Excess Billing =  Calculated revenue- Actual revenue = 50000-40000= 10000 AED.

Profit = Calculated Revenue – Actual Cost= 50000-40000 = 10000.

But When i am running the RA actual cost under the section cumulative it is only picking up the actual cost(20000) which has been booking in the 2nd period only, which changes the entire calculation and i get different result.

Actual revenue  40000 AED  , Actual cost 20000 AED  POC - 25%

Revenue affecting net income 25000 AED Profit 5000 AED

Revenue surplus 15000 AED.

Please correct me i have got wrong understanding or i did missed any thing.

Let me know if you need any other info from my side to understand the issue more clearly.

Hi Avinash

You take your cut off period properly..it takes only one period when you are running period 2

so change it 16/2015 then I think it will take both the period of 2016

Hi,

I want to display each period in a separate column so that i can upload plan data at once.... Is it possible?

Yes you can;

You should enter period/year parametre range not at the planning level, but at the planning package. You should create planning package for each year, and enter the the period/year parametre (001.2009 - 012.2009).

After these process you should pass the layout which you assign parametre set; You can adjust the layout with tansaction KE15. Select the layout than go to EDIT > Gen data selection > Gen data selection (Ctrl+F5) than extract Period /year from Selected characteristic screen to Available characteristic.

Than you can display each period in a seperate column with;

Within the layout; insert element > create value field with charateristic and period / year parametre comes automaticly, enter the period 001.2009 for january

Makes sense to me.. Does that mean the same thing needs to be done each month - i.e. every month the cut off period should be last period of previous year?

Dear Zain,

I think OSS note can help you: 1529517 - Material transfer posting as multilevel process

Check the process category involved in this transfer from Production Plant to the Sales Plant, you can find this in the ML Document (Maybe BUBM and VUBM for material transfer posting) and check view V_CKMLMV01 which maintain table CKMLMV009 it the Multilevel Process is set for this process category.

Loss-Free Valuation MRN3 SET Materials

$

Hello together,

I need support for the following situation:

With the Transaction MRN3 I can devaluate materials by a several percentage fom it's average market price in the specific year.

For example:

Material 123456

Year 2015

Sold 3 times:

Jan 3€

Jul 5€

Aug 4€

Average Price 4€

Loss-Free Valuation percentage 50%

So I can devaluate the material to 2€

So far, so good.

Now my problem:

Same material is also part of a SET material:

SET Material 999999 with Price of 100€. In this SET there are lot's of materials:

444444

555555

123456

These 3 materials do not have any price because the total price of 100€ is on the top at the SET material 999999

No the same example like above:

Re: Loss-Free Valuation MRN3 SET Materials

...continue message above:

No the same example like above:

Material 123456

Year 2015

Sold 3 times:

Jan 3€

Jul 5€

Aug 4€

The SET was sold 2 times in 2015

No the programm calculates 1*3+1*5+1*4+2*0 = Average Price 2,4€

The reason is that the material 123456 is considered two times as a Price of 0€ because of being part of the SET 999999.

Is there a posibility to consider this fact in the programm or to exclude that amount of the material 123456 which is part of the SET?

Thanks!

Re: overhead posting with no 'plant' filled

$

Hello - I just looked at COEP in our system and for Overhead cost element the Plant is not populated - I am guessing that is because the Order Number is there which will link back to a plant. ?

There are other entries, Inventory difference, for example, that do not reference an Order, and have the Material number and the plant populated.

I expect this is standard SAP set up - I don't recall that we spent anytime deciding this kind of thing. A custom report could be written that would draw the Plant from the order number.

So, it is not just your place.

Validity of alla cost centers is 31.12.9999 ... therefore I cannot really understand what the issue could be...

Variance analysis with actual costing

$

Hello everyone,

I would appreciate some pointers regarding how variance analysis works in combination with actual costing. When you calculate variances with KKS1 and then settle production orders with CO88, the calculated variances are settled to FI. So it is my understanding that if they are also settled to materials as price differences, which in turn is credited/debited to the stock and COGS accounts with the closing postings, that would be a double posting. Am I missing something?

Thanks.
